Just a husband and wife who like trains and meeting fellow railfans...
Mike and Andrea are the dynamic duo behind Railstream. It all began when Mike decided to put up a camera in Fostoria, Ohio because he couldn't get there as much as he would have liked. Originally, Andrea thought the idea of a live railcam was crazy! But, after fan mail started pouring in, she soon jumped on the Railstream train.
Railstream is a labor of love. Mike and Andrea both work full time and tend to the cameras during the evening hours. It's very common to see them on the couch with their matching laptops tweeking the cameras or popping into the chatroom to say "hello".
When they're not driving around the country installing and maintaining the ever-growing Railstream network, Mike and Andrea enjoy going to baseball games and traveling to new places.
Meet Ron, our location scout!
Ron has had a love for trains as far back as he can remember. As a tyke when visiting his grandmother, he would go running down the front sidewalk to the street anytime he heard an approaching train in Smithsburg, Maryland. Young Ron would wave to the engineer and the conductor as he counted cars, eager to see the caboose at the end. Sadly, the days of the caboose are gone, but Ron still enjoys watching trains as they cruise down the tracks.
Speaking of cruising! Ron, too, has a love of a travel and enjoys cruising with his family. His love of cruising lead him to online ship cams. He was hooked and soon discovered that in addition to ships, trains were also streaming live. Ron became a member of Railstream and soon began suggesting new camera locations. It wasn't long until he was asked to join the Railstream team and help expand the network. Ron's hard work and dedication have helped Railstream add some of its most popular locations, including Franklin Park, IL and Shenandoah Junction, WV.
Because everything is bigger in Texas!
Our front door is 1300+ miles away from our Texas cameras. And as much as we love cruising the open road and seeing armadillos, we realized that a little extra help was needed to support the Rosenberg, Saginaw, and El Paso railcams. Thank goodness for our friends, Kevin and Lloyd! Kevin and Lloyd have graciously stepped in and have helped us with upgrades and other camera maintenance. When they're not out eating Tex-Mex and BBQ, they can be found setting up ATCS throughout the Lone Star State.
Our Current Locations
Railstream currently has cameras in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, West Virginia, and Ontario, Canada!
